Preschool education is a compulsory part of school education. The recommendations bythe State Council on the current development of pre-school education under (2010) requirespreschool education not only to grow in quantity and scale, but also to pay more attention to theimprovement of quality and connotation. Preschool teachers’ quality is the assurance ofpreschool educational development. We must pay more attention to the cultivation of preschoolteachers’ comprehensive ability. At present, preschool teachers’ schools are still the main force ofthe task. But because of various reasons, the students in preschool teachers’ schools lack learninginterest in academic subjects,especially English. This is not in line with the social demand forhigh quality teachers for preschool education.Based on the former research on learning interest, the theories of Krashen’s Affective FilterHypothesis of and Rogers’ Humanism theory, this study takes the students in Qingdao PreschoolTeachers’ School as the research subjects and probes into their English learning interest to findout how the students’ learning interest may affect their English studies and what makes thestudents lose their interest in learning English.80students from two classes of Grade2011participated in this study. Class1is made the experimental class, and Class2the control class.A questionnaire is designed and handed out to the students to investigate their English learninginterest and learning status. A quasi-experimental research for40weeks is carried out to explorethe measures to stimulate English learning interest of the students. Four strategies are used by theauthor to stimulate the students’ learning interest: stimulating the learning motivation,coordinating with the teaching methods of preschool education, modifying teaching content, andstimulating the learning interest of the students with learning difficulties. At the end of the study,a second English learning interest survey is made in the experimental class,a post-test whichincludes PETS examination and school final exam is made in the two classes. The results of thestudy show that these tactics have a positive effect on st’udents English learning interest,learning motivation and learning habit.The research provides some suggestions on improving the st’udents English learninginterest in Secondary Preschool Teachers’ Schools. English teachers should take efforts to studyand stimulate the students’ learning interest, realizing the importance of interest study and constant practice". In continuing to pursue student-centered" educational philosophy, Englishteachers should use a variety of teaching strategies and create a lively classroom atmosphere tobe in line with the students’ characteristics. Teachers should attach great importance to the use ofaffective education, especially in the schools where girls account for most of the students, andgive special help to the students with learning difficulties.This study analyzes the status of English learning interest and the causes of interest loss ofthe students in preschool teachers’ schools. The writer has made a teaching practice in order toimprove the English learning interest of the students. It provides a certain reference onstimulating students’ English learning interest for the cultivation of preschool teachers.
