The Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) is a standardized examination which isestablished for testing the Chinese level of non-native Chinese. And the purpose is toinvestigate the examinee’s ability of using the Chinese language of communication indaily life, learning and working environment. What’s more, It is the most influentialChinese test in the world. HSK has started in1991, which make a great response athome and abroad and make a very important role in promoting Chinese language andChinese culture. With the time goes, some problems existed in HSK have graduallyexposed. In order to make better service to Chinese learners, Hanban who organizedthe experts fully examined the status of Chinese teaching at home and abroad, andconsidered the various situations of the Chinese learners, decided to reform the HSK.So the new HSK formal implemented in November,2009. According to the change ofHSK, the teacher should change the concept of teaching and strategies with the newguiding ideology in order to help the students make the surface language knowledgereturn to the fundamental of language acquisition and language practice.The full article is divided into five parts. The first part describes the researchpurpose, significance, research status at home and abroad and research methods. Thesecond part is the new and old HSK Comparative analysis, makes a comparisonbetween the old and the new HSK ’s the theoretical basis, the theory principle,applicable object, class structure and the examination structure. This part analyzes thecontents in their reading questions, test points and lexical syllabus. The third part isresearching the lexical questions in reading test of new HSK level one, level two andlevel three, which uses statistical method to analysis the property of the lexical in thelexical questions of new HSK level one, level two and level three. The forth part is theenlightenment of new HSK for teaching, and summarizes the present situation inreading class of primary stage of Chinese as a foreign language, and gives some skillsfor teaching lexical and reading of the primary stage based on the analysis of formerparts. The fifth part makes a summary about the thesis.
