Economic globalization promotes cross-regional and cross-cultural communications in all fields of the world. Transnational production and business activities are nothing new now. Favorable conditions including developing transportation and communication, constantly updating network information technology, a high degree of sharing of resources support for sino-foreign cross-cultural design teams all over the world. Cultural diversity is the main characteristic of sino-foreign cross-cultural design teams which differs from traditional ones. While Cultural diversity brings advantages, the drawbacks it brings cannot be easily neglected. It has a negative effect on our groups or even the operation and developme nt of the enterprises. The management of cross-cultural design team precisely comes into being to solve this serious problem. And the focus on it is increasing day by day. Scientific management not only avoids cultural conflicts caused by cultural differences effectively, but also brings into play the advantage of the cultural diversity of the team. It is practically meaningful to study the problems of the management of sino-foreign cross-cultural design team.It’s necessary that attention is focused on team’s cultural management because of the great influence of the culture. Because the ultimate goal of management is people which is the carrier of culture, Ideas and strategies of management should aim at people. According to the research approach of raise questions-analyze problems-solve problem, the paper interpreted cross-cultural and management of cross-cultural design team, and described the relationship between culture and management in detail. Based on the existing cross-cultural research theory, expressions of sino-foreign cultural conflicts and the deep reasons were analysed. Using the way of combining theory and practical case analysis, the paper gave a detailed description of the advantages and risks of cross-cultural design team, and lead to the thinking of necessity of team management. Management elements of sino-foreign cross-cultural design team were collated. Improvement strategies of culture management and the specific strategy management in team were put forward. Combining the case, the paper put forward the solutions for the management problems of sino-foreign cross-cultural design team and gave a powerful demonstration. Finally, in accordance with cross-cultural design team in the virtual environment, based on the analysis of its features and advantages, considerations about the management of the distance collaborative model were proposed. And the paper tried to explore the improvement and integration of the management mode of virtual cross-cultural design team in theory and practice.The paper takes culture as the original focus to the necessity of the study on the management of sino-foreign cross-cultural design team, and the strategies and management pattern were researched implemented as well. It put forward rational and effective solutions for smoothly operation of international design project and the practice of sino-foreign cross-cultural design cooperation.
