Xiao E signed by "You Mei Song Ling",Youmei Cai is a famous journalist and the famous novelist in Beijing in late Qing Dynasty. Mr Cai had published series of Beijing novels or commentary like "Evolution paper","Shuntian paper","Jinghua daily" and so on, The total words are nearly10millions, And it has played a positive role for the " wisdom" and "social improvement", because of it we saved a lot of time to reflect the vivid materials of Beijing language, Xiao E is one of the larger, higher data successes.Xiao E which is punctuated and noticed by Liu Yizhi is the first book edited by Wang Hongjun, Guo Ruiand Liu Yun, it is a key project of the Ministry of education in2011. The book is a valuable material for studying the Beijing dialect system in late Qing dynasty and early Republican period.The first part of this paper points on annotation checking, including three aspects of punctuation, words, rules and so on. We discussed and corrected the mistakes, at the same time, we analysis the photocopy of characters.In the second part we annotate and point to the flaws. The notes in this book are in a total of more than1100, but it has to be reconsidered. This paper selects some of them to supplement.In the third part, we study three groups of words as the center of Xiao E. They are" Fang, Ge, Liao"."Dao,Lu"."Cong,Da,Qi". Through the investigation of the three groups of words, we find the different language habits in Xiao E.Through the study of the above three aspects, the corpus value of Xiao E got deeper excavation. Social content and critical form make its distinctive flavor. Special evolution of three groups of words and Xiao E’s effective language prove that the corpus are more live and colloquial. As the rare corpus which is close to the social life In late Qing Dynasty, Xiao E has the immeasurable value in linguistics, lexicology, dialect, and folklore.
