With the development of teaching theory and teaching practise, Teaching Chineseas a Foreign Language teaching (TCFL) content is also constantly adjusting andenriching. Punctuation as the organic conponent of written language,is also theimportant part of the Chinese teaching to foreigners. Punctuation do not attachimportance to teaching but in the actual teaching process, which leads the overseastudents in the written make a lot of errors, both in the physical writing, in formatwriting and in function using. In this paper, I took124writing samples of62students inChinese Studies of XI’an International Studies University who with5kinds ofmothertongues. In which the punctuation usage statistic and error analysis with thecountry classification, analyse theirs’ punctuation characteristic in written works andsummary the reasons of producing errors. And then, I proposed teaching strategies anddiscussions.
