Research On The Transition Of Chinese Documentary’s Social Value

Documentary, known as the visualized "history book", provide an objective historywith its objective and precise lens. In addition to its basic function of recording natureand reflecting society, this "history book" also poses great value to the society. Thisthesis is trying to seek out the transition process of Chinese Documentary’s Social Valueform the history after PRC was founded in1949. According to relative documentaries,literature, policies and regulations, four periods are sorted out for ChineseDocumentary’s development:"Unified Social Value" period,"Bringing order to SocialValue out of chaos" period,"Diversified Social Value" period,"Centralizing SocialValue" period. With the review of historical materials, this thesis not only summed upthe Strength of Chinese Documentaries’ Social Value in different period, but alsosummarized the Configuration of Social value in each period from three dimensions:sociology, anthropology and art, aiming to observe the longitudinal transition of SocialValue’s Strength and Configuration. This thesis eventually pointed out that since thefounding of PRC in1949, the primary factor to affect the Chinese Documentary’s SocialValue transition in the strength is the demand of politics, and Configuration of theSocial Value is focusing on Social Integration Value, People Content Value and ArtisticEnhancement Value in contemporary China.
