Research On The Monosyllabic Package Verbs Based On The Corpus

Package verbs，as a word group of Chinese lexicology，have many distinguishingfeatures worth scholars to pay attention to. Based on previous studies，the paper hopes tosynthetically reveal such typical class from perspectives of syntax，semantics and cognitionetc.This paper firstly combines meaning with form，coming up with the criteria ofmonosyllabic package verbs and ascertaining seventeen monosyllabic placement verbs basedon the corpus.Syntactically, the paper puts emphasis on the static functions of monosyllabic packageverbs through six syntactic patterns. Then, syntactic reflection of obligatory semanticcomponents of monosyllabic package verbs has also been analyzed, which is mainlymanifested by the forward displacement of object components and the forward and backwarddisplacement of dative.Semantically, on one hand，the paper analyzes the conception of seventeen monosyllabicpackage verbs，and explores the common semantic characteristics. On the other hand, itdiscusses the meaning constitutes of seventeen monosyllabic package verbs according to“meaning analysis—meaning constitute” theory. Moreover, the paper studies the selectionof semantic components.Finally，the paper researches seventeen monosyllabic package verbs from cognition:constructs the cognitive schema of packing event and studies characteristics of the eventplaced; explores the application situation of the cognitive schemata elements of packing eventin the dictionary definition; divides subcategories of packing event, and combined with thesyntax for further analysis.
