Living in a chaotic period of dynasty alternation, Cao Xueqin once lived an intolerantlypainful life and even suffered severe trauma both mentally and physically, but fate failed tostop him from putting his long-cherished wish into practice, which leads to the internationallyspreading and thought-provoking masterpiece, A Dream of Red Mansions.A Dream of Red Mansions nakedly revealed the changes of a large aristocratic familyfrom prosperity to decline under the feudal system, in which the tragic fate of femalecharacters is particularly highlighted, who, due to the constraints of feudal hierarchical system, was forced to be the victims of that era in order to maintain the interests of the family. Forthose female living in a hierarchical aristocratic family, luxury life can never conceal theirhidden hurts and grief. The female, as accessory of the patriarchal feudal system, has longbeen deprived the dignity, freedom, and pitiful life in its true sense.Women, as a special symbol of history, have been always neglected by the society in thelong-term feudal social system, whose vulnerable body and mind are entitled differently tomaintain the patriarchal politics by trading and dealing at will. With the development ofhistory, feminist consciousness is gradually awakening while the long and deeply rootedinfluence by feudal thoughts leads to the fact that some women still stick firmly to thetradition of decay. Intellectual women in the new era should be independent both at work andfamily, both for thinking and living. Confronting the patriarchy, they should learn tounderstand how to protect themselves and how to maintain their rights and interests.Meanwhile, they should also undertake their responsibilities and obligations, becausehappiness can be achieved only by their own striving with the presupposition not to damagethe interests of others.
