The Ming Dynasty has lasted for276years, it has experienced16emperors which has left the dozen of Testament and16Enthronement imperial edict. The imperial edict is the primary materials on the study of political, economic, military of the Ming Dynasty, it has the very important value on historical records. As an official documents,Testament and the Enthronement imperial edict have the fixed pattern, highly format and template. The drafted on Testament and Enthronement imperial edict was always completed by the higher prestige cabinets generally. In the later period, the cabinets’status was more and more prominent, and drafting power on imperial edict was owing to chief cabinet officer. The function of Testament and Enthronement imperial edict was embodied in many aspects, especially it has played the important role in the occasion of turnover, which together ensured that the handover of imperial authority could go with a swing and the political system was stability. There are a great quantity of content that promoted the beneficial and abolished the harmful in the imperial edict, which reflected the emperor’s heart of repent his error during approaching his end, as well as the new emperors’heart of manage state affairs.However, investigate the Ming Dynasty, it is not optimistic to the implementation of the Testament and Enthronement imperial edict, in the long term, Testament and the Enthronement imperial edict take less effect on emperor’s power during the reign. The reason for this condition is mainly due to the emperor was always debauched and cold-shoulder to the political, the unceasing contradiction is led by the bureaucratic group and eunuch interferer the power and disturb political affairs.
