The authority of imperial edict was safeguarded by censuring and abolishing edict in Western Han Dynasty. Refuting edict reflected few democracy and reason atmosphere, but didn't implemented. From the historical point of view, the imperial edict in Western Han dynasty gradually showed Confucianism characteristics. According to this history, as well as the main contents of the changes in imperial edict, imperial edict of the Western Han Dynasty can be divided into four periods.
