The Creation Of Campus Sculpture In Colleges And Universities And The Study Of Spatial Environment And Cultural Features

With the continuous development of campus construction in colleges anduniversities, campus sculpture has won great attention as an important carrier ofcampus culture. Sculpture in colleges and universities can not only beautify campusenvironment, but also demonstrates campus culture and embodies the spirit of thetime. Moreover, it plays an irreplaceable role in cultivating students culturallyand artistically. The creation of sculptures should be in harmony with the spatialenvironment and cultural characteristics of campus by fully making full use of theart history and sprit of colleges and universities and systematically combing theirspecific spatial environment with cultural features. Only in this way, beautiful andcolorful campus sculptures with distinctive theme, novel mould and in appropriatesize and suitable material can be created. They can manifest the intellectual,academic and openness features of culture in colleges and universities in the formof objectification and simultaneously build a pleasant and energetic campusenvironment, making colleges and universities, special cultural places, show theircultural charm.Taking the perspective of spatial environment combining with culturalfeatures, the paper proposes to abandon the traditional microscopic view of“discussing sculpture in isolation” in campus sculpture, and apply a microscopicidea by connecting spatial environment and cultural features with the creation ofcampus sculptures. Combing theory with practice, the paper gives a comprehensiveanalysis of typical campus sculpture at home and abroad and put forward somesuggestions, which are expected to give some theoretical guidance in the laterconstruction of campus sculptures in China.
