A Study On Tian Han’s Early Drama Thought

Tian Han was one of the inaugurators and founders of Chinese modern dramas. It is universally accepted that his drams which create in the1920’s are defined as the early work in academia. His thought of drama had deep and complicated cultural connotations. Tian Han has the art purport of himself including the inheritance of the traditional culture with the absorption and the conversion of foreign cultures. This paper aims to start from Tian han’s early theatrical creation with combing the early drama creating thought, reason and cultural connotations.The thesis mainly divided forming into three parts besides of the introduction and condasion.The first part focus on profiling the main content and the cultural connotation of the early drama thought of Tian Han. At this part, the thesis uncovers the essence of TianHan’s "art to beautify life" early drama thinking by combing his absorption of Romantic creative approach and the aesthetic pursuit of the "art first". It analyzes that his cultural receiving psychological of the drama thinking started from the main content of TianHan’s early drama thinking.The second part will analyze the forming factors of TianHan’s early drama thinking. First of all, it analyzes the characters of Tian Han finding his artistically inclined. And then, to investigate the impact of traditional culture on TianHan’s early drama thinking by investigating his growing culture. At last, it sorts out the extraterritorial factors of TianHan’s early drama thought by analyzing his experience of studying and cultural activities.The third part will investigate the relationship between TianHan’s early drama thought and his drama practice.
