For a long time, the interpreting quality and level of the interpreter have been evaluated from the perspective of "faithfulness" and "equivalent", and traditional translation theories paid few attention to the interpreter’s subjective initiative and personality. In1980s, the western interpretation theory of "cultural turn" opened up a new perspective of interpretation studies for us. In recent years, along with the further research of interpreting process, it has been gradually realized that the interpreter, as the intermediary of the original and interpretation, occupies an important position in the course of interpreting. Meanwhile, the focus of interpreting studies has been changed from the original text-oriented or author-oriented to the dynamic interpreting process. The theorists admitted the interpreter’s subjective initiative in the interpreting process, and established the interpreter’s subjective status.Currently, there are very few studies on the interpreting of state council news conference, not to mention the studies from the perspective of the interpreter’s subjectivity. Most of the interpreting theorists give priority to faithfulness in the interpreting of state council news conference. However, the interpreter as the main participator of the interpreting process plays a very important role.A tentative study on the subjectivity of the interpreter and the analysis of the cases in the interpreting of state council news conference shows that the interpreter should give full play to his subjective initiative in the aspects like the choice of ways of expression, choice of interpreting strategies, etc.. Meanwhile, the interpreter has to take his relationship with the speaker, the audience, etc. In addition, this thesis also analyzes the seven restrictive factors that influence the interpreters’subjectivity. Chapter One and Chapter Two gives the definition and theoretical background for the interpreter’s subjectivity. Chapter Three analyzes the restrictive factors of the subjectivity. In Chapter Four, considering the characteristics of the interpreter, this thesis systematically elaborates the representation of interpreter’s subjectivity in the state council news conference, and emphasizes that the interpreter’s subjectivity is shown as a personalized choice, exerted in the discourse understanding and the interpretation of the source text. Besides, the interpreter’s motile adaptation to the topic and information structure is also the result of the exertion of his subjectivity during the process of interpreting at conference.
