The Analysis On The Communication Of The Network Language

The new media technique is going to bring some new change of thecommunication of people. The foundation of the variation of the language is thetransformation of the society. The network language is developing with the Internet’sdevelopment. It is also a language variety of the traditional language which is adaptedto the new media environment. Nowadays, on the account of the Internet plays animportant role in the society and the daily life of people, the internet language hasbeen focused and studied by the domestic linguistic scholar.The network language is a new type social dialect. It is a language variety thatthe net citizens use to communicate with each other on the Internet. Usually, thenarrow sense of the definition of the network language is that it includes thetraditional language and words, and it also refers to the new type language varietyemerges in the new internet media. In this thesis, the internet language contains theinternet common words that are the conventional words, phrase and so on; and theinternet catchwords which are prevalent on the internet in a period time.The point of view of this thesis is different from the former study from the aspectof the rhetoric way of the language, the physical context of the language and so on.This thesis analyses the internet language from the communication aspect. In thethesis, the theory of communication mode was used in the detailed analysis on thenetwork language. Furthermore, the thesis combined the sociolinguistics, networksubculture and postmodernism thoughts to detect the network language’s importantimpact on the societal&cultural value and everyday life.Based on the profound research, the author concludes that internet is anindispensable place for communication in a digital era. Internet language has been oneof the most commonly used languages in people’s life. As the main users, the young generation enlarges the vocabulary of internet language owing to their creative minds.Besides, young people endow internet language with features of entertainment,casualness and humor. The young generation makes good use the internet, as a tool, toexpress their ideas and identify themselves among their peers. The usage of internetlanguage brings more complicated mimicry environment in which various kinds ofcultural values and ideas appear. People’s understanding on the real life becomesmuch more indirect and complex.In light of the analysis of the content and the spreading environment of internetlanguage, the author concludes that the internet language makes deep impacts onevery aspect of the society. On the one hand, internet language is a mirror of currentsocial culture, which reflects important social values and spiritual culture. On theother hand, internet language changes the way of the people’s life and minds andinfluences their cultural orientations. Internet language changes the agenda setting oftraditional mass media with its powerful penetrability. It also endows the users withgreat discourse rights, which makes them participate in the discussion of public issuesof the society. In the age of media convergence, internet language changes the oldagenda setting of traditional mass and establishes a new one with powerful publicopinion.Meanwhile, the spread of internet language causes many problems because of thedeficiency of the limitation and control of its usage. For instance, there exist usage ofvulgar words and network linguistic violence among internet language. Thus, usersshould try to improve their network literacy to use civilized internet language.
