Intercultural Communication And The Cultural Associative Meaning Of Plant Words In Chinese And In English

The plant is closely related to human, while providing the material basis for human, itsunique shape and habits sparked people’s association. There are some plant words in Chineseand in English, that to a certain extent, they reflect the emotion and ideal of people of twoethnic groups. To strengthen the research on the cultural associative meaning of plant words ispropitious to reduce the errors caused by misunderstanding the cultural associative meaningof plant words in the process of intercultural communication, thus it will promote interculturalcommunication.This paper is divided into four chapters,The introduction part wrote the object of the topic and the current situation;The second chapter mainly introduces the knowledge related the cultural associativemeaning of plant words;The third chapter is the core content of this paper, this chapter compares the culturalassociative meaning of plant words in Chinese with it in English and analyses the cause of thedifferences.The fourth chapter describes the influence of the cultural associative meaning of plantwords on intercultural communication.The purpose of this paper is to find out the cultural differences between Chinese andEnglish through the study of the cultural associative meaning of plant words in Chinese and inEnglish, we hope it will promote intercultural communication.
