Language learning not only includes language acquisition, but also includes language attrition. Studies on previous researches show that language attrition research of non-English major student is still in insufficient. This study aims to achieve the language attrition degree, language attrition component conclusion through the analysis of the English testing results for the students who retain twelve months English suspension period. As a result, this study can provide more efficient English learning suggestions in English teaching and English reacquisition.This study adopts empirical investigation of the current English attrition situation of the non-English major students of Northwest A&F University. The CET-4paper is used as testing paper which maintains reliable and identical reliability and validity. By collecting and analyzing the test data by SPSS19.0, combing foreign and domestic related theories, the conclusion of this study is as following:1. After through a twelve months suspension period, the non-English major student of Northwest A&F University exist the different degrees of English attrition.2. Among listening, vocabulary, reading and writing, the English component which suffers the most attrition is listening and vocabulary. Comparing to them, reading and writing suffer smaller attrition.3. The English attrition component and attrition degree in a large degree depends on the English learning interests, motivation and attitude of the students.Based on the achieved conclusion above, this study suggests that listening and vocabulary teaching should be enhanced in the college teaching process and mainly improves the English learning interest in the meantime.
