A Study On The Coordinative Polysyllabic Words Of WuDengHuiYuan

WuDengHuiYuan,compiledand edited at the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, is a very important historical book in Lamp Records style on the Chan(Zen) School of Buddhism and had great influence in contemporary Southern Song and of later ages. Because the contents recorded in the book reflect the social life appearance of the Southern Song Dynasty not merely,also because its amiable plain language, is strong spoken,"not flashy, only to be pragmatic, the language is similar to the words of chuff or baby ".Such language first reflects in the g similar lossary. This article analyzes coordinative polysyllabic words of WuDengHuiYuan. As far as constitution of coordinative polysyllabic words, Form notional words, the number of verbs is largest, the number of nouns followed verbs, adjectives and numerals were few, pronouns were very rare. Form structural words, the number of adverbs is largest, the number of conjunctions followed, prepositions were very rare.This shows that verbs and adverbs in the coordinative polysyllabic words have made great development at Southern Song Dynasty. In addition, synonymous morpheme coordinative polysyllabic words had the largest proportion, Class-defined morpheme coordinative polysyllabic words followed, Antisense coordinative polysyllabic words were least. The main reason is that the vast majority of coordinative Polysyllabic words in WuDengHuiYuan directly inherited the previous generation, only few ones came from that dynasty. In the remote ancient and medieval Chinese language the number of synonymous morpheme aggregates are largest,by the time of the Southern Song Dynasty class-defined morpheme aggregates had transformed into synonymousmorpheme aggregates.Antisense aggregates had no changes,and the proportion was the least.During the formation of coordinative Polysyllabic words,semantic role is the most important, voice followed, the grammatical role not so obvious, pragmatics is the ultimate means to lexicalization. The vast majority of coordinative Polysyllabic words in WuDengHuiYuan directly inherited the previous generation,very small part of them came from innovation during that time. Some of coordinative polysyllabic words in WuDengHuiYuan were eliminated from the vocabulary system, but most of them are still retained in the modern Chinese vocabulary system. This shows that the development of vocabulary system follow a law about Gradient and stability.
