Maurice Ravel (Maurice Ravel1875~1937), the great composer of French, one of the outstanding representatives of Impressionist music, is known as one of the best orchestral and vocal music master in the world. In his orchestral works have unique orchestration thinking, not only enrich the orchestra performance; there are many innovations in the writing technique."Bolero" originated in Spain, as a name of Spanish folk music, the characteristic is:three beat, speed. From the main part, middle part and a reproduction section in the form of "Bolero". Ravel orchestral works " Bolero " its far away from melody, rhythm, speed, structure, Compared with the real Spanish folk music" Bolero ", so, Ravel just use the name " Bolero ", There is little difference Between the two of them, But "Bolero" indeed a very rich Spanish style.This paper will be divided into four parts to study Ravel’s orchestral works "Bolero". The first part introduces the " Bolero ", The life and works of Ravel; the second part, Analysis of the "Bolero " theme, melody, harmony, mode and tonality; the third part, orchestration analysis, from the orchestra, two a theme repeated eight times with different style of orchestration, and the instruments used in three aspects of analysis; the fourth part, on the " Bolero " music style, make a detailed description of.
