The prison literature is a specific theme in Chinese and Soviet literature. It beginswith carrying out political movement after China and Soviet Union found of their regime,many independent mind intellectuals in the field of politics, artistic, science and so on,and a lot of innocent people are arrested to the concentration camps. The prison literaturenarrate the history full of the bloods and tears by literary representation and cogitate howdo the humans choose their attitude under the extreme political circumstance. It has greathistorical and realistic significance through the study of the prison literature in China andSoviet. When looking back in history, we can find the political tragedy is similar, and wecan find the historical significance in the prison literature which has an important choicefor the human civilization. This paper would compare the prison literature between Chinaand Soviet for three parts.In the first part of this paper, the reason why political prisoners are arrested wouldbe analysed. This part would discuss the extremely political crime which does the prisonliterature criticize, it would be criminality if there is any detrimental speech or action tothe image of leaders. Both China and Soviet exploit the political crime out of ideologicaldissent because of the defects of the political system. Chinese authors criticize theultra-leftist which effect a big disaster and the Soviet authors criticize the Stalin modelthat cause a tragedy.The second part focuses on the comparative analysis the methods by the physicaland spirit destruction which are used for persecuting these political prisons in theconcentration camps. The spirit destruction include the dread before arrestment and thefears of a great calamity is at hand that these political prisons look forward to the earlyarrival of arrest. When the arrestment coming, Chinese use the mass movements whichlike an erupting volcano, there are full of big-character posters around the intellectuals;the Soviet rely more on Cheka arrested to the political prisons in the night. The happinesshas alienated after arrest to the concentration camps, it is not the same standards there.The third part discusses for the political prisons still uphold the human nature thatthe authors ponder over and glorify the humanity which is the only way to resist the political persecution. First of all, the intellectuals have never been giving up thinking ofthe truth, Chinese ask for Tian and Soviet political prisons seek relief to God. Secondly,It is the pursuit of true love, both men and women understand each other in the turbulentyears, they have no choice, they must face to the reality. Last is extolling goodness whichChinese authors inherit from Chinese classic literature and Soviet authors inherit fromthe traditional Russian that is a kind of good survival rule.Finally would summarize the prison literature is discussing and reflecting onhumanity and criticize the political disaster. This article comprehensive use of thecomparative literature in parallel study and influence study politics, history, and religious,composite and analysis the characteristics of the prison literature between China andSoviet Union.
