A Report Of CBO Wibesite Information Translation

This is an E-C translation report on author’s participation of Heilongjiang province Budget Engineering Committee providing abroad information translation work. This report selects CBO online information translation as case analysis object. Analyze the problems encountered in the translation work, and explore the corresponding translation strategy and solution to these problems.At the beginning, the report describes the background of the task, client background, the client’s requests, clarified the responsibility of translators in this task. When review task process, the report describes the preparation for translation, the translation process, process designs and translator arrangements, as well as the mandate of task management with spelling out the steps in a specific work.In Chapter Three, this report enumerates some kind of mistakes which appears in the practice process, such as wrong dealing with the words, sentence improper handling and content misunderstanding. With the mistakes, this report tries to find out the reason and right expression.Chapter Four is the theory ponder and the question solution strategy on the problems. Elaborates Nida’s "Functional Equivalence" theory for guiding this translation task. The practical and feasible proposal of translation strategy are as followed:a)Words translation strategy is using corresponding method and meaning extension method. b)Long sentences translation strategy includes reversion, recast, segmentation and conversion. c)The strategy for content understanding is sequencing and amplification.Chapter Five is the conclusion. Through this practice, the report gets conclusion in three aspects:Translators’professional quality, shortcomings and inadequacies in this task and the gains in this task. First of all, the author sums up the mistranslation and the solution in the translation task. In addition, as a translator, he or she should occupies a qualified theory accomplishment. Translators can analyze and adjust the original text.What’s more,translators should pay attention to the format and layout. During the translation process, translators should pay attention to the readers’reaction. Translators should have a certain translation experience and a high sense of responsibility. Finally, the report summarizes the shortcomings and inadequacies in this practice, namely:the translators in this task don’t know well about professional knowledge, and don’t use CAT in this practice. Then summarizes gains in this practice. The author hope that this practice report can become the good beginning in the way of translation, also provide reference for others.
