Han Yu is the leader of ancient prose in Tang Dynasty, and is the first amongEight great literary masters of the tang and song. Han Yu not only Indispensable inthe history of Chinese but also played an important role in the history of Chinesethought.Buddhist thought to flourish at The Sui and Tang Dynasties that made socialpresence the situation of the situation of Buddhism prevailed and decline ofConfucianism.Ha Yu make unremitting efforts to the renaissance of Confucianism inthat social background.Firstly,he is criticize for Buddhist with three field from a perspective betweenhistory and realty,such as the debate of China and the barbarians, Disturb the feudalethics and the Buddhist damage rule. And he gave a new annotation and newconstruct about "Tao" of the Confucianists on the base.These two aspects are mutualpromotion and mutual fusion.It is advance the revival of Confucianism and oppose toBuddhist thought with pass through annotate and construct about "Tao" of theConfucianists.He is combine social reality to gave a new annotation about thedoctrine of Confucius and Mencius.Han Yu put forward clearly "Confucianorthodoxy"theory in the history of Chinese thought for the frist time.He was constractConfucian orthodoxy of the Confucianists and put forward "doctrine of three classesof human nature with practice by his own fair hand.HanYu’s interpretation and construction of the Confucian "Tao" has certainhistorical significance, but also has some shortcomings.HanYu’s thought UndertakeConfucius and Mencius,inspired the Song and Ming, in the history of Confucianismdevelopment,he plays a significant role.As Zhang Dainian said,"He is a key figure inthe transition which from the Buddhist flourish to Science rise in the history ofPhilosophy".Su Shi praised him as "writing after generations of decline, the Doweconomic world of the drowning".
