This article investigates and compares two words^Yuanlar and ‘‘B”ertlai, rfomthe aspects of ancient and modern Semantics, Syntax, Pragmatics and Discoursestudy.The article includes the following sections:Chapter I and II: Introduction, statement of significance of the topic，overviewof previous research, applied theories and methods, corpus sources and so on.Basedon the previous research results r birefly analyze the process of the two-words’diachronic development and ensure the basic characteirstics of the two words，focusthe research on their adjective and adverbial usages.Chapter III: Firstly, use the Theory of Semantics Analysis, get the semanticf’eatures ofstage nature)、(essential nature).Secondly，use theSemantic Relationship Model to analyze and compare the adverbial“F"w训/“/(ex，planatory relationship)、“Be?/a/，(affirmatory relationship).Chapter IV: Firstly, through the corpus analysis, we can see both the adjective“Yucmhi” and ‘‘Benlai” can be attirbutes, but there will be some pragmatic differencesif change their sentence position.Secondly, display and explain some related sentencepatterns.Chapter V: Combined with Pragmatics and Discourse Linguistic Theory, analyzeand compare the pragmatic and textual function of the two words, such as theevaluation function、preset function> the topic marker function、cohesion function andso on.Chapter VI: Summary and Inadequacy.
