A Comparison On Objest’s Ommision In Japanese And Chinese

Ellipsis is not only an important component of grammar study, but also an embodiment of language economy. Every language has ellipsis, which is a common grammatical phenomenon. The Chinese and The Japanese are certainly no exception. However, the way of ellipsis’usage of Chinese and Japanese is not completely consistent.Compare to the subject and predicate, the ellipsis of object is relatively few. But as a component of the sentence study, the object can not be ignored. Accompanied by the development of the linguistics research, the comparative study of object ellipsis on Chinese and French or Chinese and English are appeared, but the study of object ellipsis is very rare. Moreover, articles through the literature to research object ellipsis on Chinese and Japanese has not seen. The object ellipsis and the way of expression is not occasional, but which is a part of the social development. So we need to master the information of the society.In this paper, I used Lao She’s famous novel "Rickshaw Boy" and Kawabata Yasunari’s novel "Snow" and their respective Japanese version and the Chinese version, selected representative samples to analyze the object ellipsis’similarities and differences, and from the social development’various respects between the two countries to analyse the reason of these existence.The theory is consists of five chapters.The first chapter summarizes the antecedent research and advance research problems, and puts forward the research purpose, viewpoint and method and thesis structure of this article.The second chapter discusses the object scope of Chinese and Japanese. On the basis of the study, delimit the scope of the object study in this paper. According to the antecedent research outlines the objects Ellipsis’types in Chinese.The third chapter induces the object of ellipsis types of Chinese and Japanese by analyzing the novel.The fourth chapter summarizes the similarities and differences between Chinese and Japanese object ellipsis on the basis of the third chapter. And pointed out that there are special ellipsis in Japanese, namely ellipsis is caused by auxiliary verbs and honorific expression.The last chapter analyzed the reasons for the differences between the Chinese and Japanese.In short, the Chinese and the Japanese have object ellipsis, the two both have similarities and differences. By comparing the four novels carefully, the following conclusions can be drawn:(1)The types of object ellipsis:Japanese object types having the Chinese object ellipsis types (bear before ellipsis, omitted by session, after special ellipsis, omitting the verb), and have its unique ellipsis types, namely ellipsis caused by the auxiliary verbs.(2)Object ellipsis date:Japanese object ellipsis in gross is far higher than the Chinese object ellipsis in the number. Whether in Chinese or Japanese, relative to the other ellipsis (omitted by later, special verb ellipsis), bear before ellipsis and omitted by session are dominant.(3)Results from a Japanese characteristic, the use of the auxiliary verbs, the honorific form of expression is an important reason for the differences.(4)The differences’ reason:This article analysis the reason of the differences on the object omitted from the Japanese "and" consciousness, the favor consciousness and Japanese characteristics.
