Qing is generally known as Qing Shi, Zhi Shi, Nei Xin Zhi Shi in the handed down documents. But if associate Qing with human, it will relate to human nature and human’s emotions. In traditional Confucianism Qing has many connotations, especially the development from pre-Qin Confucianism to Mencius period. In the Mencius thoughts, Qing not only carries on the main idea of pre-Qin literatures and The Analects of Confucius, but also deepens the status of Qing in Chinese Thoughts History. Qing is not simply a idea of Xing Qing, it is indispensable to Xing or Xin system. Qing is the representation of individual subjectivity, it is an ethical predispositionin the true sense, it is the spring of the individual perceptual life.Qing is associated with theory of original goodness of human nature, benevolent government and morality cultivation theory. Mencius theory of original goodness of human nature is actually the goodness of Qing. Essentially the benevolent governance is based on the emperor’s compassion, in order to achieve the happiness with citizens. Because of the morality of Qing, it is inseparable from morality cultivation theory. Therefore the idea of Qing in Mencius is blended in other theories. Mencius’s Qing not only enhanced the position of Qing but also has a huge influence on neo-Confucianism, especially Chu Hsi, which explained the neutralization from the aspect of Xin, Xing and Qing. Enriched the Xin Xing, impacted traditional Chines eintellectuals’ spirit and personality.
