This paper has analyzed Shakespeare’s famous tragedy "Macbeth" from the aspect of the character, plot, artistic dimension and form of expression in detail through reviewing the historical background of Shakespeare’s creative period. The main character "Macbeth" himself has also been analyzed and discussed so that the internal and external causes of the tragedy as well as the aesthetic significance of the novel is expounded in this paper.This paper includes four chapters. In chapter one, the causing and the development of the tragedy is discussed as well as the personality of "the unity of the tragic and nobility" of Macbeth from the view of aesthetics and its relation between the tragic figure; In chapter two, the inner struggle of Macbeth and his contradictory and tragical self-realization is analyzed through spirit analysis; In chapter three, Macbeth’s choice of being an evil regicide and the murderer of the innocents until the tragic consequences of his own destruction is discussed by the way of death philosophy theory; In chapter four, the symbolic, ironic and imaginary approach of writing and the enlightenment of this work to the modern literature are both analyzed by creative approaches.
