Chinese education career in the Philippines has a history of more than one hundredyears. But this education focuses mainly on the primary and secondaryschools, thus neglected the adult education of Chinese. This article takes Zamboanga ofthe Philippines as an example, through the situation of Chinese learning, Chinesecommunication, Chinese re-learning, the re-learning evaluation etc. to investigate theadult Filipino-Chinese in Zamboanga. From the statistical analysis of110effectivequestionnaires, this paper has a certain understanding about the Chinese re-learningsituation of the adult Filipino-Chinese. This paper argues that the adult Filipino-Chinesehave a Chinese learning basic. They are able to use Chinese for simple communication.Listening is the best skill of the Four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) inChinese, the other three were weaker.Their willingness and motivation to re-learningChinese are relatively strong, and the Chinese identity is also very strong. But it is lackof learning material condition and environment of Chinese, and their learning attitudeare negative.In consideration of the characteristic of adult, this article also analyzes theadvantages and disadvantages of the adult Filipino-Chinese to re-learning Chinese, andputs some suggestions for the adult Filipino-Chinese to re-learning Chinese at the last ofthe paper.
