Design Of Martial Arts In The Film Adaptation Of Jin Yong’s Works

The film adaptation is a hot cultural issue in the field of literature and art. It mainlyrefers to the text of novel adapted into a TV drama. Especially in Jin Yong’s works, thephenomenon of film adaptation has attracted more and more attention with the TVbroadcast of the film adaptation of Jin Yong’s works one by one. Therefore, a number ofresearches were given by academic fields and the trend of the film adaptation is extremelyhot now. This article is based on the film adaption and research on the six of Jin Yong’sworks in order to discuss about design of martial arts in the film adaptation of Jin Yong’sworks. It tries to make analysis of the integration and conversion between novel and filmby the point of adapting from the martial arts into TV pictures.The paper consists of the introduction, four independent chapters and the conclusionof six parts.The introduction mainly summarizes the research achievements in fiction filmadaptation of this phenomenon and lists some previous studies and some parts which havenot been reported before. The cause of few researches on the process of the film adaptationis the emphasis of this paper.In the first chapter, it makes analysis on the two forms of carriers on film andtelevision art, especially for conversion means of the action description and action picture.Moreover, it lists the difference on the adapted forms of Hong Kong and Taiwan version ofthe Jin Yong series and the mainland version in order to fine out its cause.In the chapter two, it makes the analysis on the film adaption of martial arts in JinYong’s works. First, it tries to compare with other versions of film adaptation in order tofind out proper ways of conversion of action. Then, it selects some of representativemartial arts in order to describe two concrete method of conversion.In the chapter three, it make a research on the presentation of martial arts and analysison its function among the shot of martial arts, the contrast on the montage and the sound ofmartial arts, light and color of martial arts and the use of modern technology in martialfilms.In the chapter four, it makes the analysis on the aesthetic function of martial arts in JinYong’s works which starts from the points of entertainment, affection and armaments inorder to find out the relationship of martial arts design. It makes analysis on the conversionbetween martial arts description and pictures.It describes how to change the martial arts description into pictures in the part ofconclusion.
