Life Model Of City In Films

City, like human beings, has its own progress of growth, development, expansion, and extinction. For urban films, city as an aspect of films, it shows the vitality and drives the plots more than backdrop. In the meanwhile, city is conductive to express many kinds of sentiments. Now the most of the urban films focus on story line and characterization while lack the research about city in the films.Wong Kar-Wai has his own distinctive style in the current Chinese filmdom. Most of his films occurred in city, and the city model in the films is fixed. In this paper, the urban films of Wong Kar-wai will be analyzed with urban history and social actuality, this thesis explore space theory and Anima theory. There are five parts in this paper: films and city, the vitality and existence of the city, gender tendency and continuation about city. According this, we also can explore the roles, functions, in the films by analysing those issues. What I want to do in this paper is to explore a new way for films and urban studies.
