| Watching the ten-year writing of Xiao Hong, her writing period can be divided into three parts:the early period, the middle period and the last period. She started with hard in early times. Then she tried her best to make herself be close to the Left which was the main creation in that time with her pen-name "Qiao Yin". Xiao Hong’s personal style had not been formed and her creation was relatively immature at this time. In the middle field she went to the stage of history and became a left-wing writer by the famous works "the Field of Life and Death", but the female consciousness and the thinking about the human nature reflected in her works are more attractive. Later Xiao Hong seemed to be marginal because she chose to completely be away from the left-wing, but actually she returned to the criticism on national character and the national thinking by Lu Xun. Besides, unlike Lu Xun, Xiao Hong’s female consciousness had already been mature. Her writing started to have independent thinking and understanding. The language, structure and expression also became unique. And in the criticism on national character she also added the criticism on intellectual male. This division is to be back to Xiao Hong’s ten-year writing self search path and to look for the changed and unchanged things in her writings instead of cutting off Xiao Hong’s creation overall. Each change in Xiao Hong’s works is accompanied by her personal fate choice as well as the time changes.
