Objective: to suggest treating pediatric asthma of heat type by removing heat fromthe lung, obstruction of fu-organs and phlegm as well as to study the validity andsecurity of xiefeiditan decoction to this disease. Methods: apply xiefeiditan decoction and dingchuan decoction respectively totreating 42 children with asthma of heat type in Singapore, divided into 2 groups, the 22patients in the treated group were treated with xiefeiditan decoction and the 20 patients inthe controlling group were treated with dingchuan decoction. Make systematicalobservation of the clinical effects and the changes of integrity of man symptoms andsignals before and after a period of treatments (7 days) and also make statisticaltreatments and analyses. Results: in the treated group, six patients were cured (the cure rate is 27. 27%).12patients had effectual results (the effectual rate is 54.55%). 3 patients had effects, 1patients had no effects. In the controlling group, 2 patients were cured(the cure rate is10.00%).11 patients had effectual results (the effectual rate is 55.55%). 6 patients hadeffects, 1 patients had no effects. The total efficiency was95.45%; the curative andremarkablely effective rate of therapeutic group is markedly overmatch controlgroup(P<0.05).Conclusions: It is an effective method to treat pediatric asthma of heat type by theprinciples of treating diseases in the upper part by managing the lower and the lung andthe large intestine being interior-exterior related. The xiefeiditan decoction is effcct totreat pediatric asthma of heat type. The xiefeiditan decoction is worthy to be exploitedand spreaded in treating pediatric asthma of heat type for its clinical effects have beenproved in Singapore.
