Abstract/Summary:
Objectives: To evaluate the clinical effects and the influence of the quality of life inWen-Yang-Tong-Mai-Fa for Shen Xu Sui Jian on patients with vascular cognitiveimpairment no dementia, and discussed its mechanism of action, to prepare for furtherexplore its indications. Methods: A total of60patients with vascular cognitive impairment no dementia wasdivided into groups by treatment order, followed by a12weeks treatment withWenYangTong Mai method treatment group(n=30)and nimodipine tablets controlgroup(n=30) except for basic treatment respectively. Observed the changes of TCMsyndrome, MoCA scores, ADL scores, amplitude and latency of P300, and theoccurrence of adverse events before and after treatment6weeks and12weeks.Results:(1)Clinical assessment:①Clinical efficacy:The total effective rate of the treatment group was68%and thecontrol group is69.2%, there was no statistically significant difference comparing the two groups(p<0.01),which suggested that the efficacy of two drugs are considerable.②TCM syndrome efficacy: The total efficiency rate of the treatment group was84%and therapeutic effect of the treatment group was significantly superior to that of thecontrol group (p<0.01), which suggested that Traditional Chinese medicine ofWenYangTong Mai method is better than nimodipine in improving aspects of TCMsyndrome.(2)Symptomatic index evaluation:①Cognitive function: Compared with before treatment, both groups of patientsMoCA scores, P300latency and amplitude changes at6weeks and12weeks werestatistically significant (p<0.05), and12weeks of treatment compared with6weeks treatment difference was also statistically significant (p <0.05), which suggested that thecurative effect of two groups of drugs to improve cognitive function of patients at thetreatment of6weeks have already produced, after12weeks of treatment curative effectis obvious and is superior to the treatment of6weeks; Compared between the twogroups, the changes of two groups on MoCA scores, P300latency and amplitude atafter6weeks and12weeks treatment, there was no statistically significant difference (p>0.05),which suggested that the efficacy of two drugs to improve cognitive function of patientsare considerable.②Activities of daily living: Compared with before treatment, both groups of patientsADL scores changes at6weeks and12weeks were statistically significant (p<0.05),and12weeks of treatment compared with6weeks treatment difference was alsostatistically significant (p <0.05), which suggested that the curative effect of two groupsof drugs to improve activities of daily living of patients at the treatment of6weeks havealready produced, after12weeks of treatment curative effect is obvious and is superiorto the treatment of6weeks; Compared between the two groups, the changes of twogroups on MoCA scores, P300latency and amplitude at after6weeks and12weekstreatment, there was no statistically significant difference (p>0.05), which suggested that theefficacy of two drugs to improve activities of daily living of patients are considerable.③TCM syndrome scores: Compared with before treatment, the treatment group ofpatients TCM syndrome scores changes at6weeks and12weeks were statisticallysignificant (p<0.05), and12weeks of treatment compared with6weeks treatmentdifference was also statistically significant (p<0.05), which suggested that the curativeeffect of the treatment group drugs to improve TCM symptoms of patients at thetreatment of6weeks have already produced, after12weeks of treatment curative effectis obvious and is superior to the treatment of6weeks; While the control group ofpatients TCM syndrome scores changes at12weeks were statistically significant (p<0.05), which suggested that the curative effect of the control group drug to improveTCM symptoms of patients at the treatment of12weeks have produced. Compared between the two groups, the changes of two groups on TCM syndrome scores at after12weeks treatment, there were significant differences (p<0.05), which suggested thatthe treatment group is better than the control group in improving aspects of TCMsyndrome.(3) Safety index:During the two groups of patients taking the drug and follow-up of,the blood routine, urine routine, stool routine, liver and kidney function, electrolytes andECG and other safety indicators on two groups between pre treatment and posttreatment are normal. Conclusion:Traditional Chinese medicine of WenYangTong Mai method may improvecognition and increase the abilities of daily living of vascular cognitive impairment nodementia patients, and it can also ameliorate patients’ symptoms evaluated byTraditional Chinese Medicine syndrome, meanwhile it is safe and worth clinicalpromotion.
