Objective To investigate the relationship of changes in regional cerebral blood flow(rCBF) and Radioactivity ratio(RAR) and vascular cognitive impairment, nodementia(VCIND) have been evaluated by single photon emission computedtomography(SPECT) and analysis of the relationship of MoCA and MMSE and RARin various brain regions. Methods45cases of VCIND(male20, female25) wererecruited as the experimental group and15cases of the healthy volunteers(male6,female9) as the control group. All subjects underwent laboratory examinations, neuropsychological assessments and brain SPECT perfusion imaging. Results Whencompared with the control group, the rCBFs and RAR in the bilateral frontal lobe, theleft superior parietal lobule and left thalamus in the VCIND group were significantlyreduced(P<0.05).The rCBFs and RAR of the left frontal lobe, the left superiorparietal lobule and left thalamus were lower than that of the right frontal lobe, theright superior parietal lobule, right thalamusin in the VCIND group(P<0.05). Whencompared with the control group, space and executive function, abstraction, attention, delayed memory in MoCA and executive function, recall in MMSE in the VCINDgroup were significantly reduced(P<0.05). Space and executive function waspositively correlated with RAR of the right frontal lobe, the bilateral superior parietallobule, the bilateral medial temporal lobe; abstract was positively correlated withRAR of the left frontal lobe, left thalamus; delay memory was positively correlatedwith RAR of the left superior parietal lobule, bilateral medial temporal lobe, leftthalamus was positively correlated; MoCA score was positively correlated with RARof bilateral frontal lobe, left thalamus and attention was positively correlated withRAR of the left temporal lobe, the left thalamus in MoCA. Executive function waspositively correlated with RAR of the right frontal lobe; memories was positivelycorrelated with RAR of the left medial temporal lobe; MMSE score was positivelycorrelated with RAR of the right frontal lobe in MMSE.Conclusion The brain SPECT perfusion imaging have important value in early detection of VCIND. The left hemisphere damage early on the right, may be one ofthe important features of VCIND patients. There were some correlation between thescores of MoCA and MMSE and RAR of the various brain regions. The MoCA maybe more sensitive than the MMSE in early screening and prognosis for VCIND.
