Reliability And Validity Of Chinese Version Scale Of Attitude Toward Acute Mental Health Care(Psychiatry)

To compile Chinese mental health attitude scale (ATAMHS) and verify its reliabilityand validity, initially establish the Chinese version of mental health attitude scalewhich applied to psychiatry; by measuring150professional nurses in mental healthcenter in Shan Xi Province, preliminarily discuss the applicability of this scale in thecultural background of our country; proceed the contractive analysis between theresearch results and abroad measurement results.MethodsFirstly obtained the the authorization of translation and use of the original scale formJohn A Baker, a professor at the university of Manchester, and translate and backtranslate ATAMHS strictly according to the process guidance of cross-culturaldebugging of evaluation and scale.2Chinese American nursing experts and2nursingpostgraduate students whose English is good,translate and back translate the scale;5domestic nursing experts evaluate the translation to form the pilot test version of thescale after several revisions. Make a preliminary investigation, focusing on testingpreliminary language translation and the reliability and validity of the draft, form thefinal draft after appropriate adjustments,and then conduct an official investigation.Analysis the data using SPSS18.0and research reliability and validity of the Chineseattitude of mental health scale (psychiatry). ObjectBy using convenient sampling method,30nursing graduate students in Shan XiMedical University and20psychiatric nurses in Shan Xi Medical University FirstHospital were selected in preliminary investigation phase; Formal investigationadopted the method of cluster sampling, and the questionnaire survey were conductedamong170nurses who were included in the inclusion criteria in Mental HealthCenter in Shan Xi Province.Resultsanalysis and selection of inventory itemsEntry distributionDependent on descriptive analysis of33items of inventory, the mean, standarddeviation, frequency and constituent ratio, all items has not been any answer choicerate more than80%, no answers is obvious skewness of the distribution,so no entrieswere deleted using this method; The variation coefficient method: variationcoefficient method is used to delete the the items whose variation coefficient is lessthan25%in each dimension, using this method will delete items23; T test: allparticipants scale scores according to the order from high to low by the arrangement,at each end will be27%of the subjects, respectively named high group and the lowgroup, using t test to test whether high group scored significantly higher than the lowscore group. Using this method to delete item3,12,23,32; Correlation coefficientmethod:calculate the correlation coefficient of each item and the scores.Removesmall correlation coefficient (<0.4) entries.By this method,entry7,12,32and3weresuggested to delete.Determine the final scaleUsing the above4methods screening items, at least three methods to keep was selected. Final scale including33items, including12on care and control,6ontreatment vision,4on difficulty of help,4positive attitude and7on meaninganalysis.2, validity analysis of scaleContent Validity: after the panel’s evaluation of the scale, the research evaluationresults shows that the CVI=0.931, all the entries of CVI>0.800.Structure validity: The result of exploratory factor analysis is consistent with theoriginal scale results. KM0=0.667,chi-square value is1461.844, freedom is528, P<0.001, suitable for factor analysis.Eventually total extract five common factor, thecumulative contribution rate was77.25%.reliability analysis of scaleThe internal consistency reliability of the total table was0.788, Cronbach coefficient of each factor and the total table range form0.741to0.828,1/2reliability was0.723.All of these showed that the scale with good reliability andstability.ConclusionBy compiling and testing the reliability and validity of Chinese mental health attitudescale (psychiatry), searching results showed that the scale is easy to measure andimplement, and is suitable for the psychiatric nursing staff in China on a large scaleapplications.
