OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the safety and efficacy of simple greenlight photoselective vaporization (GPV) for the treatment of cystitis glandularis.METHODS:A total number of31patients (12man and19women) with the mean age of45.8with cystitis glandularis from October2010to August2013in our center underwent oporation of GPV;20patients with urinary frequency, urgency, odynuria and other urinary tract irritation, of which3cases seriously affected the normal life and work, dysuria in6cases, with lower abdominal pain in3cases, microscopic and gross hematuria in9cases.B-ultrasound showed that5cases of bladder mucosal nodular bulge,14cases of local mucosal thickening,4cases of solid projections; All31cases undergo cystoscopy and biopsy with the pathology results of glandular cystitis, and underwent GPV without intravesical therapy. All patients undergo cystoscopy with which results unnormal then take biopsy each3months in the first year after operation, while1year later every six months to review cystoscopy, the whole group were followed up for6to30months, an average of16months.This study retrospectively analyzed perioperative data, complications, cystoscopy and biopsy results in all cases to evaluate the surgical safety and efficacy.RESULTS:All operation which had no significant bleeding were successfully completed, with average operation time32.1min.After operation urgency, odynuria, urinary frequency, lower abdominal pain and other symptoms disappeared and no complication appeared. The average time after operation in hospital were6-7days. All cases were followed up6to30months,27patients cured, three patients improved, one case recurrenced, no one case of cancer.CONCLUSION:Simple photoselective vaporization for the treatment of glandular cystitis has a high cure rate, shorter operative time, postoperative recovery and other advantages, and is an effective method.Simple photoselective vaporization for the treatment of glandular cystitis is safe and has less postoperative complications.
