The Correlation Of Hyperthyroidism And Hepatic Functional Impairment: Analysis Of71Cases

Objective: To analyze the cause, clinical manifestation, and influentialfactors of hepatic functional impairment in patients with hyperthyroidism, forthe guiding of clinical management. Method:122patients with hyperthyroidismhospitalized from March2012to February2013were divided into two groups:group A,51cases with normal hepatic function; group B,71cases withimpaired hepatic function. The general conditions, hepatic and thyroid functionparameters of patients in the two groups were compared. Correlation analysis ofthe clinical materials in71patients of group B was conducted. Result: In groupB, hepatic functional impairment caused by hyperthyroidism,anti-hyperthyroidism drugs, hyperthyroidism complicated by viral hepatitis, andhyperthyroidism complicated by autoimmune liver disease was found in52(73.2%),16(22.5%),2(2.8%),1(1.4%) patients respectively. The blood levelsof FT4, TT3, TT4, TSH, ALT, AST, ALP were higher in group B than those ingroup A, FT4and TSH were more obviously different (P<0.05). Correlationanalysis showed that in patients with hepatic functional impairment caused byhyperthyroidism, there was a positive correlation between AST and FT3, FT4,TT3(P<0.05), and between ALT and FT3, FT4, TT3, TT4(P<0.05). This four cause of hepatic functions impairment in patients with hyperthyroidism havedifferent clinical characteristics，After active treatment,most of them can returnto normal. Conclusion: The cause of hepatic functions impairment in patientswith hyperthyroidism is various, but more frequently caused by hyperthyroidismitself. Hepatic functional impairment is closely related with the increase ofthyroid hormone levels.
