Objective:To explore the relationship between the stigma in schizophrenia and general demographic information, state of schizophrenia, social function, social support, consciousness of social face, insight. To provide who will carry out scientific researchsand clinic treatment with direction and basis.Methods:Chose368patients met with the criteria of ICD-10for schizophrenia in Shandong Mental Health Center between February2012to May2013. All subjects were tested by a self-made general information questionnaire and a disease information questionnaire when they were hospitalized. All subjects were assessed by Positive and Negative Symptoms Scales(PANSS),Personal and Social Performance(PSP) in baseline, and assessed by Positive and Negative Symptoms Scale(PANSS), Personal and Social Performance(PSP), Scale of Stigma in People with Mental Illness(SSPMI), Social Science Research Solutions(SSRS), Consciousness of Social Face(CSF), Insight and Treatment Attitudes Questionnaires(ITAQ) at8th weekend after treatment. After screening, all statistical analyses were performed using SPSS18.0software when P<0.05confirmed significantly.Results:1. The score of the Scale of Stigma in People with Mental Illness was34.63±17.23. The average scores of SSPMI factors were similar, and there was no significant difference between them (P>0.05). The stigma in the schizophrenic patients was significantly different in terms of marital status(P<0.05), the score of married was lower than unmarried or divorced patients(P<0.05).2. The stigma score was negatively correlated to social support score(.P<0.01), subjective support score (P<0.05), objective support score (P<0.01) and utility of support score (P<0.05).3. The stigma score was positively correlated to the total score of CSF (P<0.01), the fear of losing face score(P<0.01), which was uncorrelated to the desire of getting face(P<0.05).4. The stigma score was positively correlated to the scores of PANSS no matter before or after treatment(P<0.05), and was negatively correlated to the scores of PSP no matter before or after treatment (P<0.05). It was positively correlated to the scores of ITAQ(P<0.05).5. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that gender, the score of CSF, the score of SSRS, the total score of PANSS after treatment, the difference between PSP scores before and after treatment could be the factors influencing stigma(P<0.05).Conclusion:1. The schizophrenic patients who hospitalized suffer from stigma, which was similar in the way of social contact, personal ability and treatment.2. The stigma was-correlated to marital status. Those who with poor marital status had more stigma.3. The stigma was correlated to social support and the consciousness of social face. The poorer social support and more consciousness of social face the more stigma they had.4. The stigma was correlated to state of schizophrenia. The more residual symptoms after treatment, the more stigma the patients have; the better social function recovering, the less stigma the patients have. Especially negative symptoms could increase more stigma than other symptoms.5. The stigma was correlated to insight. The more insight patients have, the more easier for stigma to come into being.
