Objective: To evaluate the relationships between hemeoxygenase-1(HO-1) and the indexes of oxidative stress in patients with chronic kidneydisease (CKD).Methods: According to the definition of CKD in K/DOQI(2006),132CKD patients, who were treated in our department,and30healthyindividuals were enrolled in the present study. The hemeoxygenase-1,malondialdehyde(MDA), superoxide dismutase(SOD) were investigated.Results:①Serum HO-1,MDA and SOD were significantly higher inCKD group compared with those in control group(P <0.05). HO-1andMDA increased with the progression of kidney function and up to thepeak in CKD four.SOD decreased with the progression of kidneyfunction.②Pearson’s correlation analyses revealed that MDA,UA andPTH positively correlated with HO-1, and SOD, eGFR, SI,ISAT andTBIL negatively correlated with HO-1.③Multiple linear regression analyses demonstrated that MDA,SI and eGFR were the independentfactors affecting HO-1.Conclusion: HO-1involved in the process of oxidative stress inpatients with CKD, and MDA, eGFR and SI were the independentfactors affecting HO-1.
