CT Diagnosis Value For Osteonecrosis Of The Femoral Head Steinberg Staging

Objective To investigate whether the X-ray combined with CT examination can improve the repeatability and consistency of early femoral head necrosis. Methods Sort out the imaging data of orthopedic patients, whose diagnosis is avascular necrosis, during January to September of2013in Shanghai sixth people’s hospital. From40cases in our hospital with CT details early or middle stage of femoral head necrosis (Ficat Ⅱ-Ⅲ period), the above40cases separately read and described by two doctors with the X-ray and X-ray+CT images were independently and repeatedly read. the reading opinions were analyzed according to Ficat and Steinberg staging systems. Results After analyzing the results combined with CT scan, the results showed that the repeatabilities of Steinberg staging and Steinberg substage staging were increasing significantly, and there was no evident difference in Ficat staging repeatability; For staging consistency analysis found that Ficat stage, Steinberg staging and Steinberg substage staging of consistency were increased. Conclusions For the patients with femoral head necrosis in CT examination can obtain more accurate analysis, can get more details of the cartilage fractures and joint surface subsidence under specific circumstances, and has good auxiliary role for further treatment.
