Correlation Study Between High-normal Range Of Thyroid-stimulating Hormone And Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Objective: To investigate the Correlation between thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH) andpolycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).Methods:94PCOS patients with normal thyroid function and anti-thyroid peroxidaseantibody(anti-TPO Ab) consisted of the observational group and65patients healthy femalesubjects consisted of the control group,compare the level of TSH,the freetriiodotyronine(FT3),Free tetraiodotyronine(FT4) and the presence of TSH≥2.5uIU/L inthe two Groups.The association between TSH<2.5uIU/L Group(The low-normal Group)and TSH≥2.5uIU/L Group(The high-normal Group) with Body mass index (BMI),Systolicblood pressure, Diastolic blood pressure,Fasting blood glucose(FBG),Fastinginsulin(FIN),Homeostasis model assessment insulin resistance(HOMA-IR),Fastingc-peptide, High sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),Glycosylated hemoglobin (HbAlc),Triglyceride(TG), Total cholesterol(TC), High density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),Low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) of the PCOS patients were studied,and thecorrelation between TSH and the parameters of PCOS were studied by Correlationanalysis,Parial Correlate analysis and Multiple Linear Regression analysis.Results: The level of FT3was statistically significant between the observational group andthe control group,The level of TSH,FT4and the presence of people in TSH≥2.5uIU/L wassimilar.Systolic blood pressure, Fasting c-peptide,hs-CRP,TG and HDL-C of Thehigh-normal Group were statistically significant in comparison with The low-normalGroup.Parameters like BMI,FBG,FIN,HOMA-IR,HbAlc, TC,LDL-C were similarbetween the two groups.TSH was correlated with Diastolic blood pressure,Fastingc-peptide,TG and LDL-C in all PCOS patients.there was no correlation between TSH andall parameters in the low-normal Group.TSH was positive correlated with HOMA-IR andFasting c-peptide in the high-normal Group. Systolic blood pressure, Diastolic bloodpressure,BMI,TG、TC、HDL-C、LDL-C as control factors,the same outcome was found by Parial Correlate analysis.TSH was positive correlated with TG、LDL-C when Systolicblood pressure, Diastolic blood pressure,BMI,HOMA-IR and FIN as confoundingfactors.By Multiple Linear Regression analysis,TSH had linear regression relationship withTG independent of BMI、FIN、HOMA-IR.Conclusion: TSH can’t reflect the severity or recovery of PCOS.TSH≥2.5uIU/L,TSH wascorrelated with IR,TG,which is a evidence for PCOS patients to make TSH level downwith drugs.PCOS patients should pay more attention with IR and lipid.
