Purpose: By comparing elderly ILDs patients’ pulmonary function(including lung capacity, lung volume and DLco), invasion range of HRCT andartery blood gas analysis before and after taking glucocorticoid, which is namedof methylprednisolone tablets, we study the effect, andvantages anddisadvantages of taking glucocorticoid to provide basis and guide for clinicalmedicine choice.Data and method:60ILDs patients who was older than60years oldhospitalized between2012Jan. to2013Dec. from the department of RespiratoryMedicine of the first hospital of Jilin University are observation candidates.Investigating and comparing effects of applying glucocorticoid and taking usualmedicine.Results::(1) Both glucocorticoid group and usual medicine group havebetter pulmonary function, lung capacity and lower PAH compared to treatmentbefore, which is statistically significant.(P<0.05)(2) The invasion range of pulmonary HRCT in two groups before or aftertreatment has no statistically significant difference.(P>0.05)(3) After3months or half year, there is no statistical difference of syndrome, plumonary function (but for FVC%pre, DLco/VA%pre), artery blood analysis, PAH between two groups.(P>0.05); while FVC%pre and DLco/VA%pre of theglucocorticoid group are better than usual medicine group, which is statisticallysignificant.(P<0.05)(4) Glucocorticoid group are more likely to get impaired glucose toleranceor diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, etc. compared to usual medicine group, which is statistically significant.(P<0.05)Conclusion:1. If it is accepted by elderly ILDs patients, appropriate drugscan be choose to use when give treatment;2.Compared to conservativetreatment (antiinflammatory and antifibrosis), the effect of glucocorticoid is notvery satisfactory, and long term use of it will bring about obvious side effectsand complications, so we recommend that it should be refused or very careful touse glucocorticoid to treat eldery ILDs patients.
