The genus Pedicularis consists of about500species, mostly grown in the boreal and alpine areas, of which about two-thirds of these species distribute in China, especially in the Southwest for the most. Pharmacological studies have shown that plants of this genus have hepatoprotective, antihemolytic, anti-tumor and other physiological activities. Alkaloid, phenylpropanoid glycosides, iridoid glycosides, nucleosides, flavonoids and other more compounds is the main components of Pedicularis genus. Iridoid glycosides, phenylpropanoid glycosides are characteristic constituents of this genus, which have high medicinal value.14compounds were isolated by silica gel column chromatography, macroporous resin column chromatography, MCI, Sephadex LH-20and recrystallization. The structures of10compounds were identified by modern spectroscopic methods including NMR spectrometer and high resolution mass spectrometry(HR-MS), IR, UV.10compounds were elucidated as: β-sitosterol (1),methylmachaerinate (2),3β-acetoxysitost-5-ene-7a-ol (3),taraxasterol (4),4’,5,7-trihydroxyflavanone (5),stigmast4-en-3-one (6),leucosceptoside A (7),acteoside (8),genkwanol B (9), β-D-mannopyranose (10).The antibacterial activity of the extracts from P.kansuensis was studied using Bnfillus licheniformis, Aeruginosus Bacillus, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae and Escherichia coli as the test bacteria by Oxford cup method. Meanwhile, the MIC of each extracts were determined. The results showed that the EtOAc extract displayed the best antibacterial activity.
