Objective:To investigate the effects and anti-inflammatory mechanism of the potato slices in treating limb swelling after total knee arthroplasty, to observe the clinical efficacy of potato slices of limb swelling after total knee arthroplasty.Methods:Selection standard of40patients with limb swelling after total knee replacement, according to the principle of random, we will be selected40patients divide into the ice control group and the potato treatment group in the hospitalization sequence stochastically, each group of each20examples, The conventional therapy after surgery, In the two groups respectively applies to the limb swelling by ice packs and the fresh potato slices.(on both sides of the notch and leg medial and lateral),2hours each time,1day2times, a total of6days.1day after surgery (Before the treatment), Postoperative3,5,7day measure the level of two groups of the limb swelling, Observe and record two groups of patients with lower limb of pain VAS score of resting and activity at the event, and preoperative and postoperative3,7days of knee joint function of HSS score. And extract the venous blood in patients at1,3,5,7days after surgery, by double antibody the two step sandwich enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for detection of TNF-a and IL-1content.Using SPSS18.0statistical analysis was carried out on the data from.Results:1.The cross-section diameter of the two groups by upper, midpoint and under pole in the measurement of patella10cm in1day after surgery has no statistical difference(P>0.05).Two groups of3,5or7days has statistically difference (P<0.05), Comparing the two groups of Mean rank, The experimental swelling degrees are lower than the control group.2.Two groups of pain VAS score of the resting and activity has no statistical difference in1days after operation (P>0.05).Two groups of3,5or7days postoperatively VAS score has statistically difference (P<0.05), Comparing the two groups of Mean rank, The experimental group of pain VAS score of the resting and activity were lower than the control group.3.Two groups of knee joint HSS score has no statistical difference preoperatively (P>0.05). Two groups of3and7days postoperatively of knee joint HSS score were more significantly improved then preoperatively, it has statistically difference (P<0.05), Two groups of3and7days postoperatively of knee joint HSS score has statistically difference (P<0.05), Comparing the two groups of Mean rank, The experimental group of knee joint HSS score were greater than the control group.4.The two groups of serum TNF-a and IL-1content at1day after surgery (Before the treatment) has no statistical difference(P>0.05).Two groups of3,5or7days postoperatively has statistically difference (P<0.05), Comparing the two groups of Mean rank, The experimental group of serum TNF-a and IL-1content were lower than the control group.Conclusion:1.The potato slices and ice in the treatment of the swelling and pain after total knee arthroplasty has better clinical effect.2.The potato slices topical and ice can reduce the body swelling and pain after total knee replacement, the potato slices topical in the treatment of limb swelling and pain after total knee replacement treatment is better than that of ice.3.The potato slices of the therapy for the body limb swelling in patients after total knee arthroplasty has obvious inhibitory effect of serum TNF-a and IL-1content.
