Background and purpose:Intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH), as its high incidence and poorprognosisis, has becoming a very common clinical critical case. Clinicalstudies have shown that external ventricular drainage(EVD) can rapidremoval and drainage the hemorrhage intraventricular. As a result, external ventricular drainage (EVD) can not only lift the mass effect, cerebrospinal fluid circulation can be restored as soon as possible; butalso, reduce cerebral edema and other toxic effects of variousmetabolites. The effectiveness of EVD in surgical treatment of the IVHhas been widely recognized. But as an emerging technology, the factorsof the prognosis of the intraventricular hemorrhage after IVH treatmentcan hardly be systematic and comprehensive researched. In this study, weretrospectively analysis cases of the intraventricular hemorrhage afterIVH treatment, aim to investigate the factors which influence theprognosis of intraventricular hemorrhage after IVH treatment, in order toguide the clinical treatment and prognosis, providing a scientific basis forclinical decisions. Materials and Methods:There are387intraventricular hemorrhage cases in our departmentfrom2011.10to2013.11.153cases were finally adopted as the inclusionand exclusion criteria. General information, the onset of symptoms, admission examination, imaging data, treatment and complications asindependent variables, the Scandinavian Stroke Scale (sss) score afterthree month of IVH treatment as the dependent variable, using univariateanalysis to screen the factors which affecting prognosis, then furtheranalysis these factors using a multiple linear regression equation, to proofthe influence strength of various factors. Results:There are nine factors that influence the prognosis of surgicaltreatment of intraventricular hemorrhage. Multivariate logistic regressionmodel showed that Age, blood glucose, hematoma volumeintraventricular, admission systolic blood pressure has a negativecorrelation with prognosis. On the other hand, the GCS score, multipleventricle hemorrhage, acute hydrocephalus, stress ulcer, and pulmonaryinfection has a positive correlation with prognosis.Conclusion:1.Univariate analysis showed that9factors adopted in our study canaffect the prognosis of surgical treatment of intraventricular hemorrhage.Including age, the GCS score, multiple ventricle hemorrhage, hematomavolume intraventricular, blood glucose, acute hydrocephalus, systolic blood pressure, stress ulcer, and pulmonary infection.2.multiple linear regression analysis showed that, among thesefactors, hematoma volume intraventricular has the most influencestrength of the prognosis of surgical treatment of intraventricularhemorrhage, then multiple ventricle hemorrhage, pulmonary infection, acute hydrocephalus, the GCS score, stress ulcer, systolic blood pressure, age, and blood glucose as the minimal influence strength. There is anadditive effect of each factor.
