Aim: Health care has always been a critical base point of the big picture of civilconstruction in China, therefore, the evolution of health care service should neverstop. But even so, we still find violent incidents in hospital workplaces beginning totake place more frequent instead of decreasing because of the better service. Thesetypes of incidents have had a bad influence on the stability of the health care systemand also cause terrible consequences. As a result, the analysis of the causes of suchincidents and how to make a service pattern in order to ease hospital workplaceviolence plays a very important role. This thesis is based on the “game theory” andhow it relates to medical staffs, patients, and their families, then analyzes the interestof the media as a “game player”, also points out existing problems, and finallyproposes relevant appropriate targeted recommendations.Method: This thesis has used the literature analysis method, interview methodand questionnaire investigation method, etc. It has adopted whole group samplingand random sampling methods to do questionnaire investigation of medical care staffin five class three hospitals, and the general masses and the staff of four mass mediasincluding: broadcast, television station, and newspaper publications in Changchun. Then with the help of statistics software SPSS17.0, I analyzed the data from theinvestigation, meanwhile, consulted with expert and scholars about the status ofhospital workplace violence and existing problems.Result: According to the three questionnaires, most of the hospital staff, in thepast12months, have experienced verbal abuse, physical violence, and sexualviolence. However, a relatively small number of the masses have actuallyexperienced hospital workplace violence in the past12months. And commonopinions about violence in the hospital workplace between medical party and themasses are different, including: the understanding of the concepts, causes of hospitalworkplace violence, and counter measures and settlements. That also results in obviously different attitudes on both sides about the future of their relationship; therelationship between the media and hospitals is complex during the mediainvestigation, but the media mainly focuses on the incidents without involving thehospital. The methods through which the media acquires information are diverse, mainly from hospital, but there is also30%of media workers who only obtaininformation from patients’ self-description. There are significant differences in theobjective truth between the hospitals and the media in the perception of the role ofviolence in the hospital workplace, including: whether the media on the investigationof the hospital workplace violence seems to produce a certain impact on the media’sattitudes about hospital workplace violence. Conclusion: In order to gradually reduce the intensity of hospital workplaceviolence, we must use the media participation to affect the effects on hospitals andpatients, mainly through building an information communication platform betweenhospitals and media; strengthening the training of medical staffs communicationskills; establishing crisis emergency mechanism by hospital; and use media as abridge to change amount imbalanced status between medical staffs and patients; andmedia should objectively report, lead it become to an assistant to mitigate hospitalworkplace violence. To truly create a better medical environment, return to aharmonious medical system.
