Objective:We analyze the relationship between hyperuricemia and clinico-pathologicalcharacteristics of idiopathic of IgA nephropathy patients with normal renal function,in order to enhance people’s correct understanding of associated risk factors, andprovide the basis for clinical treatment and prognosis. Methods:A retrospective analysis was carried out using376cases of idiopathic IgAnephropathy patients from June2009to Dec2013confirmed by renal biopsy in theSecond Hospital of Jilin University. Among these patients, there were202patientswith normal renal function [eGFR>90ml(/min·1.73m2)](using the simplified MDRDformula).202patients were divided into hyperuricemia group and normal uric acidgroup according to serum uric acid level. Collecting the following clinical data whenthey took renal biopsy: age, blood pressure, serum uric acid, serum urea nitrogen, serum creatinine, serum albumin, triglycerides, total cholesterol, low densitylipoprotein cholesterol, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, apolipoprotein A1,apolipoprotein-B, serum IgA,24-hour urinary protein excretion. Pathologicalcharacteristics were estimated by Lee grading standards and Katafuchisemi-quantitative scoring criteria. The relationship between hyperuricemia andclinico-pathological characteristics of IgA nephropathy patients with normal renalfunction were analyed by statistical methods. Results:There were151patients with hyperuricemia in376cases of idiopathic IgAnephropathy patients, and the incidence of hyperuricemia in376cases of IgAnephropathy patients was40.16%(151/376). Among the376cases there were202patients with normal renal function, and55patients with hyperuricemia, the incidenceof hyperuricemia in IgA nephropathy patients with normal renal function was27.23% (55/202),the average age of55patients when they took renal biopsy was29.4±9.11,which was less than those in normal uric acid group. The peak incidence age ofhyperuricemia in IgA nephropathy patients with normal renal function was21-30years old. Compared to normal uric acid group, the proportion of male patients, serumurea nitrogen, serum creatinine, triglycerides, total cholesterol, low densitylipoprotein cholesterol, apolipoprotein-B,24-hour urinary protein excretion inhyperuricemia group were higher. Renal histological grade (Lee classification),glomerulosclerosis, tubulointerstitial injury, and renal artery lesions were moreserious than those in normal uric acid group, the difference between the two groupswas statistically significant (P <0.05).Conclusion:The incidence of hyperuricemia was high in IgA nephropathy patients withnormal renal function, and male patients were more than female patients.Hyperuricemia was associated with elevated serum urea nitrogen, serum creatinine, triglycerides, total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, apolipoprotein-B,and24-hour urinary protein excretion of IgA nephropathy patients with renal function. The Lee’s classification, glomerulosclerosis, tubulointerstitial injury and renal arteryleison were more severe in the group of hyperuricemia in IgA nephropathy patientswith normal renal function. We should pay attention to the occurrence ofhyperuricemia in IgA nephropathy patients with normal renal function.
