Autotaxin (ATX) is one of the members of autocrine motility factor(AMF)family which is a secretory associated protein with the phospholipase D enzyme activity. It play an important role in the process of metastasis of cancer cells, which considered one of tumor therapy target. The ATX expression in NCI-N87, BGC-803and SGC7901,the three kinds of cancer cell line, were detected respectively through semi-quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR),then western blot assay were used to detect the proteins expression. This study also detect and contrast genes and proteins ATX level in gastric cancer and normal tissues through fluorescence real-time quantitatie polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and Western blot, immunohistochemistry etc, experiment technology to reveal the relationship between the expression of ATX and gastric cancer pathological characteristic. Our results showed that the expression of ATX genes and proteins level is higher in the tumor cells and tissues obviously than normal tissues. The results showed that the level of ATX expression may be related to progression and metastasis of gastric cancer. This provide a theory basis for early diagnosis of the stomach clinical and interdiction of the occurrence and metastasis of tumor.
