Objective: This study was to compare the differences of the shearstrengths and the micro-leakage value of self-each adhesive to dentin surfacesbetween combined with and without cavity liner material. Further to providethe experimental basis in vitro and therapeutic basis for the treatment withcavity liner material of the hypersensitive abutment teeth with vital pulp afterteeth preparation.Methods:1. Fresh extracted human bicuspids were prepared. The teethwas divided into four groups of10samples each. Group A was as controlgroup. Group B was rewetted with Gluma desensitizer. Group C was withUrbical LC, and Group D was with Vitrebond. Group B, C and D were as theexperimental group. Forty premolars were ground to remove buccal enamelabout2-3mm to expose the dentin with TR-13high-speed diamond burs.Dentin bonding surface was followed by particle size320mesh,400mesh,600mesh silicon carbide sandpaper to form more than3×3mm2standard flat.According the instructions, the dentin surface was performed with liner/basematerials and resin lump. The samples were embedded in self-curing resin.Shear bond test was performed using an Instron machine.2. The teeth and group were same with Experiment1. Box-like cavities(3mm*2mm*2mm) were prepared on the facial surface of40freshly extractedpremolar teeth. Teeth were randomly divided into4groups of10teeth each. The teeth were performed according to the instructions and stained with2%magenta solution for48h. The depth of magenta penetration was measuredunder Root canal microscope at four Points.3. The data was analyzed with spss16.0software.Results:1. Shear strength test: the mean shear strength of control group,Gluma desensitizer, Urbical LC, Vitrebond strength was respectively14.429± 4.123MPa,21.241±4.417MPa,15.022±3.883MPa,7.456±3.32MPa. Thedata was performed by One-way ANOVAL, F=20.294, P <0.05.It showedthe data of4groups was not all equal; SNK multiple comparison showed:Urbical LC group and the control group were no significant difference, but thedata was statistically significant with the other two groups.2. Micro-leakage experiment: The mean rank of control group, Glumadesensitizer, Urbical LC, Vitrebond was respectively14.36,12.20,30.10,28.00. Conducted Kruskal-Wallis Test, the Chi-square value was19.168, P <0.05, the data of four groups was not all equal; After re-corrected the degree offreedom, α=0.007, the data was performed by Mann-Whitney Test: The databetween a and b groups was not statistical, the same as between c and dgroups. There were significant differences between the Group a and b, c and d.The data of a and b groups was smaller than other groups.Conclusion:1Effects of three base/liner materials on Self-Each adhesiveproperties is related to composition and bonding mechanism.2Gluma desensitizer can enhance the shear strength of AdperTMEasy, and it effects on the microleakage of AdperTMEasy with no significance.3Gluma desensitizer should be combined with AdperTMEasy in clinic.
