Epoxidized oil is made from natural oils and organic peracid. It’s used as a renewable biodegradable material, non-toxic lubricating oil, polymer stabilizers and various intermediates. So it’s a green environmental protection type of plasticizer which has excellent performance. At present, the epoxidation of oil is mainly used in the vegetable oil, such as soybean oil, rapeseed oil and linseed oil. Their epoxidized production is widely used.Safflower seed oil was rarely used as raw material to epoxy in the existing literature, and epoxy value almost did not reach7. In this paper, safflower seed oil was used as raw material. It’s epoxied by a variety of epoxidation method, and various factors were comprehensive considered. Finally we found out a higher economic benefit, and can be used in the industrial production. It’s a non-solvent method with formic acid as oxygen carrier, and macroporous strong acidic cation exchange resin as catalyst. At last, PVC environment-friendly epoxidized safflower seed oil is prepared.The experimental operating condition is system optimized by orthogonal experiment. The epoxidized safflower seed oil is prepared with high epoxy value, low acid value and low iodine value, and can be used as environmental protection type of excellent performance of plasticizer.The one-step process can significantly shorten epoxidation time, reduce side reaction, improve production efficiency and production quality. The results showed that when the transform stabilizer exists and mass ratio of safflower seed oil,80%formic acid,30%hydrogen peroxide and cation exchange resin was1:0.244:1.665:0.035, the oxirane value of product could reach7afer6h’s reaction at60℃with stirring rate400r/min. The FT-IR spectra of the product are recorded in order to further characterize its chemical structure.
