Comparative Study Of SF-36and LDQOL1.0Instrument By Assessing The Quality Of Life Of Chronic Hepatitis B With Common Syndromes

ObjectivesThe objective of our study was to develop a reliable and valid liver disease quality of life instrument(LDQOL1.0) in Chinese Portuguese with chronic hepatitis B(CHB);re-evaluate different aspects of health related quality of life common syndrome of CHB with a relatively new questionnaire the LDQOL1.0;compare the differences between the LDQOL1.0and the Short Form36(SF-36) in the CHB with common syndromes.MethodsThe LDQOL1.0consists of the SF-36generic measure of HRQOL and12disease-specific dimensions for patients with CHB.Reliability was analyzed by studying the internal consistency of the individual disease-specific dimensions of the LDQOL1.0.as well as by study the split-half coefficient in a group of753patients who completed the questionnaire.Validity was analyzed by determining the instrument’s ability to discriminate groups of patients according to different syndromes of CHB.The LDQOL1.0and the SF-36questionnaire were applied to different syndromes of CHB,assess the quality of life between different syndromes,compare the differences between the LDQOL1.0and the SF-36questionnaire. All data were analyzed using the One-Way ANOVA and Chi-square test.T test,Multi-factor line regression method.ResultsInternal consistency reliability coefficient were excellent,ranging from0.448to0.990.all scales>0.908,split-half coefficient provided strong support for item discrimination across the scales,and exploratory factor analysis demonstrated distinguishable physical,metal health dimensions.Significant associations were found between different syndromes.HRQOL of spleen deficiency was higher than other syndromes,HRQOL of syndromes with "heat" were worse than other syndromes.LDQOL1.0mostly focused on the mental problem while the SF-36is mostly focused on the physical problem.ConclusionsThe LDQOL1.0.a specific instrument for measuring HRQOL.has shown a greater accuracy in relation to TCM syndromes and could demonstrate.with better reliability impairments in different syndromes of CHB.The mental dimensions are the major problems of the CHB. Cognitive-Behavioral Tradition and mind-cure are the effective methods to treat the CHB.
