Research On The Relationship Between Hardiness And Life Satisfaction Of Nursing Freshmen

ObjectiveTo understand the status and influencing factors of nursing freshmen’shardiness and life satisfaction；to analyze the influence of the demographicsfactors on nursing freshmen’s hardiness and life satisfaction；to explore therelationship between hardiness and life satisfaction of nursing freshmen.MethodsThis passage using Hardiness Scale and Adolescent Students’LifeSatisfaction Scale to measure357nursing freshmen’s hardiness and lifesatisfaction. Using spss16.0to analyze the measurement data obtained, itincluded descriptive statistical analysis test, T test, variance analysis, correlationanalysis and regression analysis.Results1. The general level of nursing freshmen’s life satisfaction was at a highlevel,the mean score of life satisfaction was5.23±0.81,the family satisfactionwas highest in six dimensions, the mean score of family satisfaction was5.26±1.04,the academic satisfaction was the lowest,the mean score ofacademic satisfaction was4.67±1.01.The level of undergraduate students and practical undergraduate students’in friend satisfaction, family satisfaction and academic satisfaction was higherthan higher vocational students’. There was no big difference between undergraduate students and practical undergraduate students.2. The general level of nursing freshmen’s hardiness was middle, the meanscore of life satisfaction was2.59±0.53. The score of commitment ofundergraduate students was higher than higher vocational students’ andpractical undergraduate students’.There existed no differences in commitmentbetween higher vocational students and practical undergraduate students.3. Demographics factors（1）There are significant differences in hometowns，mother’s academicqualification，cost permonth，student leader or not in overall score or severalcharacteristics of nursing freshmen’s life satisfaction.There are remarkabledifferences in hometowns，student leader or not and cost permonth in overallscore or several characteristics of nursing freshmen’s life satisfaction.（2）There are significant differences in cost permonth，mother’s academicin overall score or several characteristics of nursing freshmen’s hardiness.（3）There are no remarkable differences in whether the students were orweren’ t only child,living in school,years of accommodation, Academic starting.Conclusions1. Hardiness of nursing freshmen’s was general;2. Life satisfaction of nursing freshmen’s was at a high level. On some degree,there was still space to improve;3. Demographics factors such as, coming from cities or villages, student-leaderor not, could influence hardiness and life satisfaction;4. There is correlation betweeen hardiness and life satisfaction of nursingfreshmen’s. Hardiness have a certain impact on life satisfaction.
